Join us for an evening of music and song spanning the River Heights homes of three generous hosts!

Featuring…

The Barefoot Ceili Band, The Hammers and The Bronze Branch

Enjoy a 30 minute concert at one home, then walk/drive/cycle to your next home – like a progressive dinner with music instead of food! Concerts start at 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00.

After your final concert, stay for snacks and refreshments and good company! Let your ticket seller know if you can donate snacks!

All proceeds go to the non-profit Comhaltas Winnipeg, helping fund Irish Fest 2012 featuring the Comhaltas Tour direct from Ireland.

House Concert 2012

Please join Rinn for a house concert at Jim & Georgine Palmquist’s (48 Purcell Ave.) on Sunday, February 26th at 3 o’clock. Tickets are $10 and will include delicious refreshments. For tickets, please contact Jim at 775-1939 or geifp48@yahoo.ca.

Who is Rinn?

It starts like an old joke: what do you get when you cross musicians from a radical mix of Canadian heritages (Irish to Kiwi to Portuguese) and get them to play traditional Irish music? It turns out that you get a (mostly) young group full of energy and rooted in tradition.

With playing by Kevin (flute, whistles & Uilleann pipes), Kaitlin (flute), Selena (fiddle), Mitchell (guitar), Tom (bodhran), Liam (bass, guitar & mandolin) and Robbie (vocals & piano), Rinn is a powerhouse of musical talent. The ensemble takes the listener on an exciting journey through the musical traditions of Ireland. Tunes composed in the 17th century interact with those written just months ago. Rinn showcases the depth and reach of a musical tradition passed on through a multitude of generations and spread around the world
