About Irish Fest

This year we have the Echoes of Erin tour group from Ireland to perform in concert at the West End Cultural Centre on Saturday evening, September 24.  The weekend also includes performances by local Irish music and dance groups on Friday evening, September 23, at Shannon’s Irish Pub, followed by a rousing traditional Irish music session. Throughout the day on Saturday, there are workshops and demonstrations held at Kelvin High School, led by local artists and members of Echoes of Erin.  Sunday is the day for dance workshops by the McConnell School of Dance and to kick up your heels at a free Céilí Dance at the Irish Club on Erin Street.   Please visit our Irish Fest website (www.irishfest.ca) for additional information.

Ticket Info: A Festival Pass is $55 and gains entry to all Irish Fest events and unlimited workshops. And, if you join or renew your Comhaltas membership at Irish Fest, we’ll give you a $20 refund per pass.

Gerry O’Connor, renowned fiddle player, for a lecture and concert at the Irish Association of Manitoba, 654 Erin Street, Winnipeg.

Currently touring with the Irish Rovers, Gerry O’Connor grew up in Dundalk, County Lough, Ireland, in a family of musicians, dancers and singers. Gerry has played and recorded with such highly-regarded groups as La Lugh (Eithne Ni Uallachain, Sony Music) and Skylark (Len Graham, Gary O’Briain & Mairtin O’Connor), recording four CDs on the Claddagh label. Gerry has toured and recorded with members of legendary groups such as Planxty, Bothy Band, De Dannan, Boys of the Lough and Chieftains.

The 2016  Valentine’s Day the  Irish Ceili

Hold the date! Sunday, Feb. 14 from 2:30-5:00 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church hall on Point Road & North Drive. The ceili will feature music by the Flatland Ceili Band, ceili dancing for everyone called by Jeremy Hull, and dance performances by the McConnell Irish Dancers and the Comhaltas Set Dancers. We will end with an open music session. Tickets at the door – $5 for Comhaltas members and students, $10 for others, children under 12 are free.   Please let Jeremy know if you are interested in helping out as a volunteer or if you have an idea for the the event (anyone know any Irish Valentines Day songs or dances?). invites you to An Irish Culture Night

On Thursday, April 16 / 2015 , from 7-10 PM,

Comhaltas Winnipeg is hosting an evening of Irish Culture at the Irish Club at 654 Erin Street. It will feature music, songs, poetry and storytelling by the best Irish performers that Winnipeg has to offer.  An open music session will end the evening.

  Admission is $10 for members of Comhaltas or the Irish Association, and $15 for non-members. All ages are welcome; free admission for children under 12.   Doors will open at 6:30.

Comhaltas memberships will be available at the door – $30 for a single membership or $45 for a family. Questions?
